After exploding onto the biathlon scene in 2023 at Junior World Championships as Team USA's leading female athlete, Grace has been a part of the U.S. National Team since 2024. In her first season on the national team, Grace was a full-time World Cup athlete and was named to and competed at the 2025 World Championships in Lenzerheide, SUI. She is, additionally, a professional athlete for Team Soldier Hollow Elite where she trains in Midway, UT at the 2002 & 2034 Winter Olympic venue.
Castonguay graduated from Kennett High School in North Conway , NH, where she helped bring the Eagles to a State Championship. She is a graduate of Saint Michael's College where she studied Economics and competed in NCAA Division 1 collegiate ski racing for the Purple Knights while simultaneously racing internationally for US Biathlon. In her time racing for Saint Michael's College, Grace set several nordic ski team records for SMC and graduated Magna Cum Laude. While at Saint Michael's she trained for biathlon at Ethan Allen Biathlon in Jericho, Vermont under coach Sarah Lehto.
She is the daughter of Ted and Lynne Castonguay with a younger brother, Theo, who is also a very notable biathlete and former collegiate skier. Castonguay's mom, Lynne was her first High School Coach, creating a team for she and her brother's former high school where there was none, so Theo could continue to compete in Nordic Skiing when he became a freshman. Dad, Ted, was very influential on snow, though both parents had an alpine, rather than nordic, background. A highly achieved varsity cross country and track runner in high school, Grace reluctantly, joined her younger brother Theo in nordic skiing during her junior year of high school and immediately fell in love with the sport; later she joined him in biathlon when she was a freshman in college. Naturally athletic, hard working, dedicated and passionate she has found great satisfaction and success in these sports.
From Jackson, a small town nestled in New Hampshire's White Mountains, Grace grew up hiking and backpacking NH's 4000 footers and alpine and backcountry skiing as well. She was an avid soccer player in her childhood as well as a cross country runner; she competed in Junior Olympic XC in her youth. Grace has true grit: athletic, hard working, dedicated and passionate she has found great satisfaction and success in these sports.
In her spare time, Grace enjoys rock climbing, mountain biking, mountain trail running, sailing, knitting, and playing cribbage.
